UAF CTC Fire Science students Tyler Christensen and Daniel Hayes, along with Assistant Professor of Fire Science Jamie Bero, took on the Midnight Sun Run 10K over the weekend, completing the race in full fire gear! 👨‍🚒🔥

Earlier this month in Atlanta, Christensen and Hayes represented Alaska at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference Championships, earning silver (college division) and bronze (high school division) in the Firefighting category.

From a national stage to a late-night community endurance challenge, they continue to demonstrate the skill, determination and professionalism at the heart of the CTC Fire Science program. 🌟

UAF CTC Fire Science students swept the SkillsUSA Alaska Firefighting competition at The Anchorage Fire Department, earning top honors in both high school and college divisions. From knot tying to hydrant operations, students showcased the real-world skills it takes to respond when it matters most.

Congratulations to Daniel Hayes (high school gold) and Tyler Christensen (college gold), who will represent Alaska at the national competition in Atlanta this June!
