Happy First Day of the Semester, UAF!! 💙💛🐻‍❄️

There’s something exciting about the start of a new semester - new classes, new faces, new opportunities, and a fresh start!

To all of our students: Whether this is your very first semester at UAF or you’re counting down the credits until graduation, we’re so glad you’re here. Remember, you don’t have to have everything figured out on day one. Ask questions, connect with your professors, meet new people, and give yourself some grace as you settle in.

Here’s to a great Fall 2026 semester! We’re cheering you on every step of the way. 🎉📚

Congratulations and Welcome to Hope School, Megan Koster!

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District is excited to welcome Megan Koster as the new Elementary Teacher at Hope School for the 2026-2027 school year!

Megan is a proud graduate of Seward High School and began her teaching career at Pearl Creek Elementary School in Fairbanks. Now, she is returning to her Southcentral Alaska roots with a passion for giving back to the communities that helped shape her journey. Megan is especially excited about the opportunity to teach in a small school where she can build strong relationships, support every student’s individual needs, and make a meaningful impact on both students and the Hope community.

Her teaching approach emphasizes:
Positive relationships and strong family partnerships
Consistent routines and clear expectations
Positive reinforcement that motivates and builds confidence
Instruction that meets the needs of all learners
A safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
High expectations paired with individualized support

Drawing from her student teaching experiences and two successful years in the classroom, Megan has developed a thoughtful and reflective approach to teaching. She recognizes that every student learns differently and is dedicated to using a variety of instructional strategies to help all students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Please join us in welcoming Megan to Hope School and the Hope community. We are excited for the positive impact she will have on our students and families in the years ahead!

Welcome to Hope School, Megan! We are thrilled to have you as part of the KPBSD family.

We also saw many SOE students embarking on their paths as licensed educators and counselors. Congratulations ! Will you be next?
