UAF to honor graduate award winners, student speaker, outstanding students The University of Alaska Fairbanks will honor its 2026 outstanding undergraduate degree recipients and commencement speaker at a ceremony on Friday, May 1. In addition, UAF schools and colleges have named their outstanding students for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Congratulations to Alfred Ulroan of Chevak, Alaska, on earning his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education through the Kuskokwim Campus (KUC) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF)!

As a Calista Education & Culture (CEC) scholarship recipient, Alfred’s accomplishment represents years of persistence, hard work, and dedication. Choosing the path of education is meaningful work, especially in rural Alaska, where strong teachers help shape not only classrooms, but entire communities.
