Celebrating Student Success: AK Grad Completion Rates on the Rise
We are excited to share great news from AK Grad! Supporting students in successfully completing their courses has always been at the heart of our work, and this year’s results reflect that commitment in a meaningful way. For the 2024–2025 school year, AK Grad achieved a 72% course completion rate, surpassing our long-standing goal of 70%.
This milestone represents significant growth over the past two years, with completion rates of 63% in 2023–2024 and 64% in 2022–2023. The upward trend highlights the dedication of our students, the hard work of our staff, and the strength of the support systems we continue to build.
Every completed course is a step closer to graduation, and these results affirm the impact of AK Grad’s flexible, affordable, and high-quality online learning opportunities for both middle school and high school students. Most importantly, they demonstrate what is possible when students are met with encouragement, structure, and responsive support.
We are proud of this achievement and energized by the progress we are seeing. As we look ahead, we remain deeply committed to helping every student stay engaged, persist through challenges, and reach the finish line.

As part of our Alaska Studies course, students are required to send in photos from their part of Alaska and write up a description.
"These two photos were taken in Kwigillingok in Southwest Alaska in September, about a month and ten days before Typhoon Halong hit. They were taken just minutes apart, which shows how quickly the colors in the sky can change on the tundra. In the first photo, you can see the river along with the flat tundra and tall grass. In the second photo, the river isn’t visible, but the bright pink and purple sunset still lights up the sky and the landscape. These photos show how calm and beautiful the tundra can look in my region."
Our state is beautiful as are the people who have helped out during this crisis. Thank you Emma Phillip for sharing.

As part of a few courses, we ask students to submit authentic pictures from around our amazing state!
This wasn’t our kid. But you know how dumb this looks to us? I mean it’s so obvious that this is fake. We don’t have roads like this… 🤣😂

Listen here. As on an online education organization, we’d prefer to show off on a digital platform.

Like most colleges and universities, AK Grad uses Turnitin to check work for authenticity! So don't be like Milli Vanilli and Blame it On the Rain, the Stars, etc. Whatever you do, don't put that blame on you by submitting work that's not your own!
