Take advantage of those long summer days and create a reading routine that fits your schedule! Whether it’s reading outside in the sunshine, at the river while fishing, or during a quiet evening when it finally cools down—bring a book with you wherever you go.
Try choosing books about:
Alaska wildlife
Outdoor adventures
Survival or true stories
Pro tip: Set a small goal (like 20 minutes a day). It keeps your mind sharp over the summer—and still leaves plenty of time for fun!

Summer in Alaska = fishing time!
As a student, summer is your chance to relax and experience some of the best fishing in the world right here at home. Whether you're casting for salmon, trout, or just learning the basics, it’s all about getting outside and enjoying Alaska.
A few things to remember before heading out:
• If you are under 16 years old, you do not need a sport fishing license in Alaska
• If you are 16 or older, you must have a valid Alaska sport fishing license before fishing
• Know the rules, seasons, and limits for where you're fishing
• Be prepared—Alaska weather can change fast!
• Respect nature and help keep our waters clean
You can get your fishing license or learn more here: https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=license.sportfish

CyberLynx seniors, what comes next?
There’s no single “right” path after high school—just the one that’s right for you. As you think about your next steps, here are a few options to consider:
• College or university to continue your education
• Trade or vocational school to build hands-on skills
• Entering the workforce and gaining real-world experience
• Military service for training, structure, and opportunities
• Taking a gap year to work, travel, or explore your interests
Whatever path you choose, take time to think about your goals and what excites you. Your journey is your own, and there are many ways to build a meaningful future.
