New Nanooks arrive on campus this Thursday!💙🐻‍❄️💛

Fall New Student Orientation begins on Thursday, Aug. 20, with residence hall move-in. And from there, it's nonstop fun — kayaking, mud volleyball, a slip'n'slide, an outdoor barbecue, karaoke, a movie night, a pool party — all alongside your fellow Nanooks and future friends.

Admitted students — your UAF adventure begins with campus move-in day on Thursday, Aug. 20, followed by three days of events to help you prepare for class and find your people at UAF.

THURSDAY: Campus Move-in, remaining Online Orientation to-dos :)
FRIDAY: Orientation Kickoff, Outdoor BBQ, Movie Night
SATURDAY: Choose Your Own Adventures, Athletics Volleyball Tournament, Field Night @ the Rec
SUNDAY: Mud Volleyball, Late Nighter @ the Wood Center

Summer Orientation round two is this weekend!! 🛶🦌

Are you a new student this fall? Begin your UAF adventure a little early with a side quest on July 17–18.

-Meet muskoxen and reindeer at UAF's Large Animal Research Station.
-Stay overnight in a real UAF residence hall.
-Ride bikes to the local farmer's market in Fairbanks.
-Embark on a kayak float down the Chena River.
-And experience the bliss of Alaska's midnight sun!

Admitted students begin their UAF adventure a little early with a side quest during the summer solstice, June 19–20.

Students get to attend the Midnight Sun baseball game (which starts at 10 p.m. !!), ride bikes to the local farmer's market in Fairbanks, enjoy the Midnight Sun Festival on Saturday, stay overnight in a real UAF residence hall and experience the bliss of Alaska's midnight sun.

🍂 UAF’s fall 2026 New Student Orientation is Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 20-23. Fall orientation is required for all new students taking in-person classes in Fairbanks.
