Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who makes forest school possible! It can be a lot to prepare for, clean up after, prioritize, and support children in gaining resilience, independence, and risk taking! We appreciate you so much.

Our last day of spring forest school had everything! Sunshine, rain, hail, sandhill cranes, ruby-crowned kinglets, dark-eyed juncos, red-breasted nuthatches, mud, snow (still), and mosquitoes! Our first camp begins on June 1st and we can’t wait to see how the forest has changed!

Today was our last Tuesday of the spring session! The forest has changed so much in the last eight weeks!

The best way to spend a Friday!

Our snow keeps melting and revealing old treasures like our mud kitchen utensils. A lot of work was done and adventures were had on The Yurt River today!

Our fire pit has become a cauldron, our sled is now a boat, the wolf’s den arches over the finish line of our stream boat races. Bridges were built; boats were made. A lot of hard work was done shaping our temporary yurt stream! We have two weeks left of our spring session of forest school- we’ll see if our seasonal river lasts that long!

With today’s blustery wind we stayed to more open areas farther from the trees and enjoyed the sunshine!

Fridays class has “Breaking” News: The Yurt River is melting! The Parking Lot Puddles are forming & Leaf Races are on! (We’ll see how things look after this morning’s fresh snow!)

Today we made it all the way to The Climbing Trees! ✨ It was the first time since the fall we have been able to visit one of our very favorite spots.
