IMMEDIATE CUSTODIAL OPENING. The Fair Play R II School district is taking
applications for a FULL TIME NIGHT CUSTODIAN, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. This is an 11-
month position with the option to work the month of July. We offer paid sick leave, health
insurance and a $50,000 Life insurance policy for the employee. Successful applicants
must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Lifting is a requirement.
Applications may be picked up in the superintendent’s office. We are an EQUAL

Please see the drop off and pick up route for school this year. We ask that parents do not pick up students in front of the Elementary School by the road and that vehicles do not enter the lot for the bus route. This is for the safety of students and efficiency for all transportation.

On the first day of school (Tuesday, August 25th), parents are welcome to park in front of the Elementary and walk their child to the vestibule area for well wishes on a great first day!

We had great attendance tonight at Open House! We are beyond excited to see what this year will bring for our hornets in the Elementary, Middle School, and High School. We were able to catch some teachers and staff bringing the new year in with bright smiles.

We wanted everyone to be aware that we will be having our intruder trainning exercise this morning Aug 19th.

We are partnering with the Polk County Sheriff's office and other local law enforcement and emergency responders. If you drive by and see multiple emergency vehicles located in our high school parking lot please do not be alarmed this is part of the exercise.

Please welcome our new JAG teacher, Susan Cantrell!

Hi! My name is Susan Cantrell, and I am very excited to be the JAG Specialist this year!

This will be my 33rd year in education, and I guess it’s pretty evident that I love teaching because I just can’t seem to retire! 😂 I retired from Bolivar Middle School five years ago, but I have spent the past three years teaching 5th and 6th grade English at Fair Play.

I live on a farm just outside of town with my husband, Danny, who also taught and coached at Fair Play. We have four grown children, all of whom graduated from Fair Play, and we are blessed with eight grandchildren. They keep us busy and are an absolute blast!

When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family—especially hanging out in the pool, making memories, and enjoying our time together.

I am so excited about this new adventure and the opportunity to work with the JAG crew and teach a business class. I’m looking forward to getting to know my students, helping them discover their strengths, and hopefully making this a fun and meaningful year for everyone!

I can’t wait to see what this year has in store! 💛

We are looking forward to seeing our families and students next week as we come back to school. First, we want to see you on Thursday night for Open House! There will be a hot dog meal available to families once they have checked in with teachers, finalized registration and updated immunization records. To be entered to win a $100, $75, and $50 gift card, students must check in at least five locations during Open House. Winners will be drawn at 6:55 pm that evening and contacted via phone.
