This year, SHARE funded Bangladesh Integrated Social Advancement Program (BISAP) to provide 30 disaster affected women with sewing machines. They were also given practical training on machine operations, maintenance and basic repairs. The project enabled the beneficiaries to generate sustainable income.
One inspiring mother of two who previously struggled to make ends meet has now started a small home based tailoring business. She tailors clothes for her neighbors and customers which helps her earn a steady income to nourish her family and support her children's education and wellbeing. Her business has not only improved her family's financial stability but also enabled her to send her kids to school.
