Camp Carefree (Easter Seals of Southeastern PA)

Tonight was a great night. The Rec staff got together for once last time.

It is with great regret that we announce that effective July 1, Easter Seals will discontinue our camping and recreation programs. As a vital part of our mission for decades, the programs have had a positive impact on thousands of individuals and their families. However, the current environment of shrinking income and increasing costs has resulted in financial deficits that cannot be sustained. Though the decision was agonizing, there was no other choice given our current environment. Easter Seals is still committed to the families we serve and we stand ready to assist families in the transition to other opportunities and services responsive to their needs. It is our hope, that at some appropriate point in the future, we will have the opportunity to consider re-starting some of the services.

Hello friends and family. Applications will be mailed out by January 30th to returning camp families. If you have any concerns please contact Carol Costello at 267-292-6019 .

We will all greatly miss Mr. Ryan Babich. His hard work and dedication is defintely hard to match. In the weeks to come we are excepting resumes for propective Camp Directors and would like to invite all our friends and families to pass the word. If you know anyone the is at least 25 yrs of age with a degree in special education, recreation or related field that you feel would be a welcomed addition to our Camp family, please have them submit their resume to [email protected] or call Carol Costello at 267-292-6019.

Dear Parents, Families and Friends of Camp Carefree, It has been a pleasure to serve in the capacity of Camp Director for the past 6 years. Working with each of your children has been a great experience!!!!!!! I will not be returning for the Summer of 2013. I wish you all the best. I can't believe it has been almost a week since the last day of Camp Carefree 2012. It was an absolute pleasure working with all of your children and what I will remember most about all 120 of them are their SMILES! There is nothing better in the world than seeing children reach their full potential in a safe, structured, fun and educational setting! -Ryan

WOW!!! WE RAISED MORE THAN $3,050 at todays' fundraiser! I want to thank all of our families and friends who supported this event. Special thanks to Kaitlin, our Assistant Director and Alec, our Program Director for working so hard since the Fall on this. KUDOS TO ALL!!!!!!!!

On August 16th, 2012, Camp Carefree of Easter Seals of Southeastern Pennsylvania will be hosting its 3rd Annual Family Fun Day raffle. Last year, the event raised over $1,300 and was attended by over 100 parents, children, and staff committed to raising money for the camp and helping children with special needs have a wonderful and enriching summer experience. This year we are hoping to raise even more money and increase support for Camp Carefree! The cost for the regular raffle baskets (baskets #1-22) is 2 for $1.00 or 25 for $10.00. This year we also have a SUPER RAFFLE which has items totaling $1,100+! The cost for the super raffle baskets (baskets A-B) is 2 for $5.00 or 15 for $20.

We are half-way through camp. Camp is going great.....HAPPY CAMPERS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! Stay posted for dates for 2013.
