Last night was all about our WCASD high schoolers at Open House! 📚🏫 Families got the chance to step into their students’ day-to-day, meet the teachers and staff who will be supporting them, and get a feel for what’s ahead this school year at East, Henderson, and Rustin!

In honor of Constitution Day, we’re highlighting a Fugett Middle School tradition - the annual Constitutional Convention. 🏛️📜 Students took on the roles of delegates, representing different states as they worked together to create and vote on their own Constitution!

Rustin High School’s Marching Band welcomed 6ABC to its home field for their School Spirit Day segment! ✨💙

It’s competition season, and viewers got a special preview of their new show during the live broadcast! A few students also sat down for interviews to talk about their experience with the band, what goes into preparing for competition season (and, of course, how excited they are to finally have some Taylor Swift in the setlist! 🎶).

We’re proud to share an impactful summer experience for two of our educators!

Marty Runzer, G*E, and Betsy Lane, SWS, were among just 40 educators selected for the inaugural Flight 93 Educator Symposium. Alongside three other Pennsylvania educators, they collaborated on a lesson to help students learn about and remember 9/11, which will now be featured in this year’s National Day of Learning, “Teach to Remember 9/11.”

For Marty, a former flight attendant, this work is especially personal. Her symposium experience and approach to teaching students about 9/11 have also been featured by the Associated Press and CNN.
