We’re opening our doors every Thursday at 4:00 PM for prospective students and families to tour The Commons at Eastman’s Hall at 267 South Rd, Kensington, NH.

Come walk the property, explore our classrooms and farm, meet us, and see what makes our approach to school different.

Come see what childhood can look like here. 🦋

Join us every Friday at 3:15 PM for a tour of our Primary Program!

Our youngest learners raise butterflies, dig in the dirt, play in the mud, care for our animals and spend lots of time learning through the natural world. Then we head inside for art, stories, numeracy, early literacy, and all the cozy, purposeful work of the classroom.

We don’t think children should have to choose between muddy boots and great books. 💙 🧡 💚

Middle school looks a little different around here.
🌲🧗

High ropes isn’t just about climbing on your own… it’s about learning to trust your team, take healthy risks, work through fear, and discover what you’re capable of.
“I feel super loved and cared for today” was what a normally reserved and introverted student said to the group during our closing shout outs.

Before we ask students to learn together, we give them so many opportunities to become a community together.

This is how we start the year and this is what we continue to prioritize. Welcome to school, evolved!

You may catch a glimpse of our Highland Steers training on the electric fence with Wren in the big pasture this week in Kensington! ⚡️ ⚡️ Hugh and Lachlan are sweet boys, though these two are new additions from a beloved beef program in Vermont and not to be confused with “hairy coos from petting zoos” who get meds and training to tolerate lots of human nonsense!

Outdoor, farm & nature orientation days were an absolutely fantastic way to begin the school year for our middle and high schoolers! 🌿🐮

New friends, old friends, animals, games, muddy boots, lots of laughter—and plenty of time simply being together.

Before we dive into academics, we make time to build the thing that makes all of it work: community.

There’s something pretty special about starting a school year on a farm, surrounded by people who are genuinely excited to be there… and our goats, chickens, Highland Cows and a horse!

We have a feeling this is going to be a very good year. 💚

We know we are welcoming everyone back to our Elementary School property in Exeter, NH… but what if school felt a little more like summer and childhood all year long? 🍃 ☀️

At Building Block Commons, outside, friends, and space to be yourself isn’t “a break from learning.” It’s where so much of it happens!

Just like the neighborhood summers of 80s and 90s childhoods, here they get to dig, build, hug, take risks and learn alongside kids of different ages.

There’s plenty of reading, writing, math and science. We just don’t think childhood needs to be put on hold to make room for them.

Elementary School can be rigorous AND joyful. Academic AND adventurous.

Sometimes the best classroom doesn’t have walls (even if our indoor spaces are also beautiful!) 💚

“Staff who belay together, stay together!” 🧗‍♀️🌲

Today our staff took on the high and low ropes course… climbing, problem-solving, laughing, screaming, encouraging, catching, belaying, and doing some things that definitely pushed a few of us outside our comfort zones.

Because the work we’re about to ask our students to do this year… to unmask, take risks, try hard things, trust the new people around you, communicate when you need help, and keep going when something feels uncomfortable, is work we should be willing to do, too! And WOW did we do it!

Schools aren’t built by individual teachers working into the wee hours of the night behind closed classroom doors. They’re built by teams who know how to lean on one another, even 30 feet off the ground!

Today was a pretty great reminder:
You can climb higher when you surround yourself with the best team imaginable and trust the folks holding the ropes.

Woodworking camp just launched… We have almost 90 different projects to choose from and the skills to walk you through the process, even if you start on Day 2!
