Our Flex Care program provides occasional childcare for infants and toddlers, ages 6 weeks to 3 years, without requiring a regular weekly schedule.

Pushing, popping, and exploring Pop Its helps toddlers strengthen their little fingers, build hand-eye coordination, and practice using their fingers independently.
These early fine motor skills lay the foundation for future activities like holding crayons, using scissors, buttoning clothes, and eventually writing!

And just like that… Schoolhouse is here.

Today we welcomed our very first little group of preschoolers into Sagewood Schoolhouse.

They explored. They created. They played. They made new friends. They filled our little classroom with exactly what we dreamed it would someday hold.

Childhood.

Our Preschool Pods are intentionally small because we want to know these little people. Really know them. What makes them laugh. What they're curious about. What they're proud of. What they need from us to feel safe enough to explore, learn and grow.

Today was only day one.
And goodness, it was a good one. 💚

Little hands. Big helpers. 🤍
There is something pretty special about giving little ones a job to do.
At Sagewood, independence starts from the moment children walk through the door.
They take off their shoes and put them in their assigned cubby. They unpack their backpacks, carry their water bottles and lunch boxes to their designated spaces, and begin settling themselves into their classroom.
After snack and lunch, they help put their items back into their bags. We help with the tricky parts, like zippers, and then it's off to wash hands and help clean up.
And yes, we do this with our littlest learners too.
Because these everyday routines are about so much more than getting things done. They build confidence, independence, responsibility and a sense of belonging. They tell a child, “This is your space too. You are capable of helping take care of it.”
The same thing can happen at home! Give them little jobs they can actually own. Let them carry their pajamas to the hamper, put their shoes by the door, wipe the table, carry their plate to the counter, feed the cat, match socks or help put groceries away.
And make it exciting, “I need a helper!” can work wonders. Give them a job that feels important, show them how to do it, and then resist the urge to redo it because it wasn't done quite the way you would have done it. (Hello Christmas tree decorating! 😅🤣)
It may take longer. It may not be perfect. That's not really the point.
The point is raising little humans who hear:
You are capable.
You can contribute.
You belong here.
And we trust you to try. 🤍
That's a big lesson hidden inside some very little jobs.
