Ellen's work represents the inner glow found in her subjects. Her approach to painting is to study the light within the form - ultimately, to reveal the soul of the subject. Each of her paintings is a study of light and shadow, of life and sensitivity. Ellen has participated in the Grand National Exhibition of the Professional Artist's League, Salmagundi Club, NY, since 1986. In 2006 she was named
the Equine Artist of Distinction by the North American Horseman's Association in recognition of her "distinctive artistic talent, versatility, creativity, and skillful ability to paint and sculpt horses with exceptional accuracy, realism, consistency, and beauty in a uniquely soft and luminous style." Ellen is currently an exhibiting member of the North Shore Art Association, Gloucester, MA, where, in 2011, she presented a solo exhibition. She has won, and continues to win, many other "Best of Show," 1st and 2nd prizes.
