Congratulations to the newest alum of WA!

Warrior Nation is saddened this week to hear of last week's passing of former WA Basketball Coach, Jim Zardecki. Coach led the Warriors for several years in the mid 1980s and fielded some very competitive teams during a time with some tremendous local talent and teams. We caught up with Coach last summer during the weight room dedication for Coach Marranca, and shared some memories and stories. Coach still kept in regular touch with many of his former players and offered them encouragement and guidance. Coach Zardecki had a private industry career in which he was a standout in the field of banking operations and corporate security. Basketball and Coaching were passions of his and he is well remembered by his players and the WA Athletic Community. He truly did things the Warrior Way and sought to pass on life principles and lessons as his highest coaching priority. We send our condolences to his family and friends. RIP Coach and Thank You for your time as a Warrior!

Tomorrow at 4 PM will be the dedication of the Paul J. Marranca Performance Center. in the weight room parking lot.

Coach Marranca last took off the headset in 2007, but still has a hand on the wheel that is Wyoming Area Football. He returns for every event that he can and his counsel is sought on all matters impacting the program.

For the better part of 30 years, he was the Keeper of 'WARRIOR PRIDE' and his interest in his players, this team, and this community is as keen as ever.

WARRIOR NATION is proud to have him back and bestow this honor upon him; and equally as important, to look him in the eye; shake his hand and thank him for his guidance and leadership for the Green and Gold.

We are so grateful for the community's support and for joining us for our Kick-Off Party last night! We're excited to continue to grow and launch more initiatives that will help benefit the Wyoming Area School District.
