🔧🚗 WELCOME BACK, SST AUTO! 🚗🔧

Yesterday was the first day of school, and what a great way to kick off the new school year!

It was awesome meeting our incoming Year 1 students and reconnecting with our returning Year 2 students. With students coming from seven different sending schools, we spent some time getting to know each other through ice breaker activities. While our students may come from different schools and communities, they all share one thing in common- a passion for automotive and hands-on learning! 🔧

The energy and excitement in the shop was amazing, and we can't wait to see what this group accomplishes this year!

We also had a special visit from two SST Auto alumni, Orrin and Nick, who stopped by to say hello. Of course, Mr. Main and Mr. Mayotte couldn't pass up the opportunity to have them talk with our students about their experiences and pathways after SST.

🔹 Orrin is working at Mercedes-Benz of Portsmouth while continuing his automotive education at Manchester Community College.

🔹 Nick is working at Audi Stratham and is also attending Manchester Community College for automotive.

Both shared their experiences with our students, including their 8-week internships while at SST, scholarship opportunities, automotive competitions, and the importance of learning as much as you can while at SST.

Their message to our students was simple: Take advantage of every opportunity SST Auto has to offer! 💪

🏁🔧 THE MUSTANG HAS ARRIVED! 🔧🏁

A little over a year ago, SST Auto students Kaleb Greeley and Ryan Hill brought home the Gold at the New Hampshire Ford ACE State Competition. As part of that incredible opportunity, SST Auto was awarded a new vehicle for our program.

Well… it has arrived! 🎉

We are excited to welcome a 2025 Ford Mustang GT with the 5.0L V8 to the SST Auto shop! 🐎💨 This is an incredible addition to our program and will give our students the opportunity to learn on a modern performance vehicle packed with the technology today's automotive technicians need to understand.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible and continues to support SST Auto and career & technical education. Opportunities like this allow us to bring the latest vehicles, tools, and technology into our classroom and prepare students for what they will see in the automotive industry.

And now… school starts in just TWO WEEKS! 🎉

Mr. Main and Mr. Mayotte are already getting the classrooms and shop back together after summer cleaning, and we're getting excited!

We're looking forward to welcoming our incoming Year 1 students and starting them on their pathway toward a career in automotive. 🔧🚗

We're also excited to see our returning Year 2 students, hear about what they did over the summer, and get back to work building their skills and preparing for what's next.

The shop is getting cleaned up.

🏁☀️ IT'S RACE DAY AT Star Speedway! ☀️🏁

The weather is looking great, and we're ready for a fun night at the track!

🚗 Mr. Main will be piloting the #121 VW Rabbit
🚗 Mr. Mayotte will be driving the #91 Toyota Camry

We'll both be competing in tonight's 4-Cylinder Enduro, a 40-lap race to cap off the night's action! 🏁🔥

And the best part? General admission is only $5 for everyone over age 10! 🙌

If you're a future, current, or former SST Auto student, stop by and say hello! It's always great catching up with our students and alumni outside the classroom.

Do you know someone who enjoys working with young people and has an automotive background? Seacoast School of Technology's Automotive Technologies program is looking for a Teaching Assistant for the upcoming school year!
Working alongside Mr. Main and Mr. Mayotte, the Teaching Assistant will:

🔧 Student Spotlight: Avery! 🔧

School may be out for another month, but our Automotive Technology students are still hard at work building their skills and gaining real-world experience.

Congratulations to Avery, who recently accepted a position with Red Barn Roadsters in Exeter! Avery has already jumped right in, and the team has been impressed with his work ethic and positive attitude.

A huge thank you to Cameron MacDonald and everyone at Red Barn Roadsters for investing in our students and providing opportunities like this. Partnerships with local businesses are what make career and technical education so valuable, and we truly appreciate their support.

When we return to school this fall, Avery will begin his second year in our Automotive Technology program. During his senior year, he'll earn additional Industry-Recognized Credentials (IRCs), complete an 8-week internship, and continue developing the technical and professional skills that employers are looking for.

As part of our Early College partnership with Manchester Community College, second-year students also have the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school, giving them a head start on both their careers and future education.

Congratulations, Avery! We're proud of everything you've accomplished so far and excited to see where this opportunity takes you. Keep up the great work! 🚗🔧

🔧🌞 Summer Spotlight: Learning Doesn't Stop When School Lets Out! 🌞🔧

While school may be on summer break, many of our SST Auto students are continuing to build their skills on the job!

This week, I stopped by Eastern Tire & Auto Service and caught up with Nick, who recently completed Year 1 at SST Auto and is now working as an entry-level technician. Nick has already earned several industry-recognized certifications, and when he returns this fall for Year 2, he'll also have the opportunity to earn college credits through our dual-enrollment partnership with Manchester Community College.

Mr. Main and I often tell our students that if you want to become a great baseball or football player, you have to practice. The same is true in the automotive industry. Working in a professional shop gives students the opportunity to practice the skills they're learning every day at SST Auto while gaining valuable real-world experience alongside experienced technicians.

It was also great to see SST Auto alumnus Jackson, who is now working full-time as a Service Advisor at Eastern Tire & Auto Service. Seeing our graduates continue to grow in the industry while helping mentor the next generation is what it's all about.

We couldn't be more proud of Nick, Jackson, and all of our students who are using the summer to gain experience and prepare for successful careers in the automotive industry. Keep up the great work!

The weather is looking great, and we're ready for a fun night at the track!

🏁 Practice begins at 4:20 PM, and the first green flag drops at 5:50 PM. In addition to the 4-Cylinder Enduro, you'll see the Armor Tech 350 Supermodifieds, Bumpy's Slingshots, Crown Vics, Six Shooters, and 603 Mini Cups in action.

🔧🎓 ASE Testing Wraps Up the School Year at SST Auto! 🎓🔧

As the school year comes to a close, students in both Year 1 and Year 2 have been busy completing their ASE Certifications Entry-Level certification tests! 👏

🔹 Year 2 students took the ASE Maintenance & Light Repair (MLR) Student Certification Test, which covers all 8 major areas of the automotive industry.

🔹 Mr. Main's Year 1 students wrapped up their Engine Repair unit by taking the ASE Entry-Level Engine Repair Test.

🔹 Mr. Mayotte's Year 1 students finished the year in the Brakes unit, taking the ASE Entry-Level Brakes Test.

These industry-recognized certifications help set our students apart and demonstrate their knowledge and readiness for entry-level positions in the automotive industry. 💪🚗
