Throwback time!

Did you know that most of KI’s Senior Instructors first walked through our doors as kids?

They trained in the same classes, competed in the same annual tournaments, attended many of the same summer events, and faced the same challenges as the students training with us today.

Years later, they’re the ones standing on the mats, helping the next generation build confidence, discipline, and lifelong skills.

Every black belt was once a beginner.

Every instructor was once the nervous new student stepping onto the mat for the first time.

We can’t wait to see which of today’s students will be leading classes, mentoring others, and carrying on the KI tradition years from now.

Today we celebrate Mr.Dever! Happy Birthday Mr.Dever!!

Noah has been a key member of the KI teaching staff for as long as we can remember! Starting his teaching journey as an assistant when he was in middle school he continued to teach through out high school and college. Now even though he has a full time job teach Elementary PE he still continues to show up and share his passion for martial arts!

His classes are filled with passion, techincal precision and his ability to meet students where they are really makes a difference to help people on their goals!

Black belt moments like this hit a little deeper.

Let’s hear it for our newest Second and Third Degree black belts.

They stepped onto the floor with 29 other candidates from multiple schools, tested in front of instructors from all over, and stayed composed under real pressure. Long day. High expectations. They rose to it.

Some places are where you go to learn a skill.

Some places become part of your life.

These photos are from a wedding but what they really show is a community that grew together over years of training, friendship, and shared experience.

Students who trained together.
Families who stayed connected.
People who didn’t just pass through but stayed part of the story.

That’s what Karate International is.

Not just a place to learn a lifelong skill…
but a place to find lifelong support.

This is what Karate International really looks like.

Not just training, but talking.
Not just movement, but meaning.

These mat chats are where kids learn confidence, respect, focus, and how to handle hard things with perseverance.

We teach them to be humble in success, gracious in failure, and to remember this: hardship is temporary. Mindset lasts.

Skills for the mat.
Skills for school.
Skills for life.

Years from now, they may forget techniques but they’ll remember these lessons and how training made them feel.

As this year closes, we’re looking at where Karate International has been and where it’s going.

A small room in the 80s.
A growing group in 2010.
Two strong campuses in 2025.

What’s changed is the space.
What hasn’t changed is the standard.

Discipline.
Respect.
Community.

Thank you to every student, family, and instructor who trained with purpose this year.
