Well Read Reading Tutors

Well Read Reading Tutors Individualized, one-on-one Orton Gillingham instruction for reading, spelling and handwriting. I help students make sense of reading.

While the brain is wired for audible language, learning how to read must be explicitly taught. Orton Gillingham uses a multisensory approach to teaching reading and spelling. That is why the teaching philosophy focuses on reading, spelling and writi

ng. The Pillars or Reading--Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary and Comprehension--are incorporated into all lessons. Each lesson is individualized, specific to a student's needs. Building off of students' strengths, new concepts are directly and explicitly taught in a sequential, systematic and logical way.

Having also lost my teacher mom who especially encouraged reading (and also loved chocolate), I happily support this effort! Thank you, Amy and Missy! It was such a pleasure to chat with you both last week.
