Our Electrical Trades students are putting their skills to work at the baseball fields—troubleshooting existing systems and installing new lighting in equipment closets. It’s hands-on experience that brings classroom learning to life.

We were so honored to recognize outstanding Career and Technical Education students at our Annual Awards Ceremony, Thursday, April 30, 2026. Scholarship recipients, professionals of the year, perfect attendance, and SkillsUSA state medalists were recognized. It was an amazing night of celebrating our students! SkillsUSA Missouri Sheet Metal state medalists and Excelsior Springs Area Career Center HVAC students, Henry Crowley and Payton Vosika, received tool set prizes sponsored by SMART Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 Central MO. Tool bags were filled with items donated by American Metals Supply , Brauer Supply Company, Midwest Tool , Jefferson City Winair, Columbia Winnelson Co. and Milwaukee Tool.

Henry, a senior from Excelsior Springs High School, placed 2nd and Payton, a senior from Lawson School District, placed 3rd at SkillsUSA Missouri state contest in the Sheet Metal event.
