Work Skills Preparation (WSP WSP@TCNJ: Work Skills Preparation

The WSP@TCNJ program is an Extended School Year program for students that are blind and visually impaired, that present additional disabilities. It is designed as a comprehensive vocational program that provides skill reinforcement and assessment of critical factors involved in transition from school to a successful adult life. A written assessment is provided at the completion of the program to h

elp both the parents and schools include appropriate TRANSITION goals in the student’s IEP. Recommendations will be made in the following areas:
• Job Site Experience & Job Sampling
• Orientation and Mobility (travel skills)
• Academics
• Self Advocacy and Self Determination
• Person-Centered Planning and Goal Mapping
• Accessible Technology
• Skills of Independence (ILS)

The WSP@TCNJ Staff are available to be an additional resource for parents, students and their school districts regarding transition services. PROGRAM ATTRIBUTES:
• Intensive, 2-week, summer assessment and training program
• Prepare students for employment and careers
• Person-Centered Planning for transition
• Encourage students to access their community.
• Taught across a variety of settings; resulting in a strong impact

Hey all--if you're a TCNJ student or not a student, and in the area on Wednesday, 3/28, there's cool event taking place on-campus: Human Abilities Unplugged

Together, the TCNJ Bonner Center and the Center for Severe and Complex Disabilities put together a Panel Presentation compiled of Speakers with Disabilities sharing their experiences in the areas of independent living, social network development, self determination/self-advocacy.
