Hello everybody!

The Brothers of the Lambda Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia are hosting a fundraiser for Mercer Street Friends, Student Change Hunger! We are collecting canned and non-perishable food in the bins labeled in the flyer below, as well as monetary donations through the GoFundMe link at the end of this post. If you would like to donate any canned or non-perishable food and can not get to a bin location, contact a brother and we can arrange a pick-up! Thank you all!!

With heavy hearts, we share the news that Brother Ben Watkins, a sophomore Music BA and Criminology major, passed away this past weekend. Being uniquely himself, he brought joy to whoever spoke to him, uplifting those around him. Any interaction with him was one to remember as a treasured memory. Throughout his time at the college, he poured out his passion through his playing of the French horn. Whether it was a conversation about baking or not knowing where he was in the music during rehearsal, there was nothing more sincere than talking to him. He was an upright and moral man who embodied what it meant to be a Sinfonian. May he live on forever in the hearts of Phi Mu Alpha and those who knew him, as we remember his kind and gentle soul. Rest in peace, Brother Ben.

We bring solemn news that Brother Isaac Ashton, a senior mathematics major, has passed away due to health complications. He was gentle in his mannerisms and his personality shone like the sun. He extended his selflessness to everyone around him and committed to putting others first. Through his trumpet and beautiful voice, he advanced in America the best in music. And through his personality, he created mutual welfare amongst musical students. Isaac will be missed, but never forgotten. He will live on forever in our hearts at Phi Mu Alpha, as we forever strive to be more like Isaac in our lives. Rest in peace, Brother Isaac Ashton.

We are very happy to announce that the Lambda Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia has initiated our Alpha Eta class last weekend. These fine men have waited 6 months to be initiated into our fraternity and we are very happy that we can now officially call them brothers. With the help of brother Ryan Barry we were able to secure an airplane hanger to use as our initiation site to help keep in line with CDC guidelines and precautions. Congratulations to our newest class, we look forward to seeing all the amazing work you guys will do.

COVID-19 has created unique situations for each of us. The Lambda Nu Chapter at The College of New Jersey had to get creative with finding a space to hold our Initiation Ritual. Luckily, one of the Brothers from the chapter was able to secure a large airplane hanger to host the ceremony. 🛩
