It’s easy to believe that athletes are super-human, especially when we watch them achieve incredible feats.

We see glimpses of their lives - snippets of their stories that inspire us. If there’s hard, it’s often wrapped up nice + tidy to help tell the story of resilience.

The reality – athletes are humans.

Humans who are striving for excellence – using sport as a vehicle to tap into the greatness inside of themselves.

Humans who have brains that are impacted by stress + hard stuff too.

Humans who think thoughts + feel emotions, including painful ones.

There is no level of achievement that protects us from being human.

Imagine the power that comes from harnessing this truth instead of fighting it + railing against it?

Helping others make that shift is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
