All,

For those that have asked, we WILL still be having the Sunday EBG meeting for Sunday, April 17, 2022. The Chuckwagon is NOT using the space for any Easter activities.

All, for those of you that use the Meeting Guide app, it has been successfully updated to correctly reflect the EBG meeting.

All,

A quick update: The show must go on! Yep, we’re two weeks back into our on-site meeting and looking forward to bringing our numbers back up. The Chuckwagon has definitely welcomed us back in with open arms too!

Fortunately, I’ve made some changes to my schedule and will continue to chair the meeting without issue. However, I will need coverage for Sunday, 15-August as I will not be available. Hope to see more of you all soon!

All, just an FYI for out-of-towners that were joining the EBG Zoom meeting, the remote meeting has been cancelled. Since we will be taking the meeting back to onsite, we will no longer need the Zoom meeting.

If you joined our Zoom meeting at any point over the last year and a half, thank you very much!

All,

After speaking with Danika, she needs to discuss starting the meeting on-site again with Pam. Of which, she will do tomorrow, Tuesday at the latest. I was at least able to confirm that our materials are still on-site, but keep an eye out for the final post regarding on-site for this upcoming Sunday, tomorrow or Tuesday.

All, the reading for tomorrow’s EBG meeting @9:00am for 18-Jul-2021 as folllows:

Keep It Simple

It takes twenty years to become an overnight success.---Eddie Cantor

Successful people make life look easy. But it's not. Years of hard work, trial
and error, and learning probably went on into each success. The key is this:
We must choose to do what we really like. If we want to be successful, we'll
have to work at it. We'll have letdowns, and we'll get bored at times. But we'll
be happy because we're doing what we want, what we know is best for us.
Real success has to do with our own happiness.

In our programs, we'll meet many successful people. They've worked hard at
recovery, and they are still learning. And they're happy to share their success
with us.

Prayer for the Day: Higher Power, thank-you for the success the program has already given me.

Action for the Day: I'll list three ways I know I am a success today. Number one: I'm sober!

All,

Sorry for the late post, but please reference the following for tomorrow’s EBG meeting @9:00am PDT for 11-Jul-2021:

One Day At A Time

HONESTY
"Our lives improve only when we take chances ~ and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves.”
Walter Anderson

After the initial shock and realization that I am a compulsive overeater, it transpired that in order to recover, I had to get honest. This was -- and still is -- a painful process for me, yet it is an essential step towards my recovery.

First I had to admit that I wasn't in control of my life and that recovery couldn't be achieved unaided. As with most revelations, this was an uncomfortable truth to behold. I was also prompted through honesty to stop blaming everyone else for my unwillingness to help myself. I had to find conviction in my actions and not just emptiness in my words.

I conceded that I am not as perfect as I would like to think. I make mistakes and sometimes slip from the path of recovery, but with honesty comes acceptance that I am only human. This disease would deceive me into thinking that I am a failure when in fact it's my actions that have failed me.

Like a magician who performs illusions for the crowd, this disease would have me think I have committed unforgivable sins. Honesty is the key to my recovery; it unlocks the chains that have imprisoned me for so long. It allows me to recognize my weaknesses and turn them into strengths. It turns simple existence into life ~ and inner-conflicts into outward serenity.

One day at a time...I will be honest with myself.

All,

As mentioned in today's meeting, I am, unfortunately, needing to pass off the chairing of the meeting to another member that can commit to the group. I am targeting 08-Aug-2021 as my last available occurrence so it would be nice for someone to commit beforehand.

Keep in mind, by that time this meeting should be onsite again at the Chuckwagon Inn. This would make it a lot easier to chair as the Sunday commitment at that point can be limited to onsite chairing. Please consider and/or reach out to those in the group that might be able to take this on.
