Exciting news at C3! 👊

Former C3 fighter and Washington wrestling standout Jonny Gilbertson will be teaching wrestling classes every Friday from now until wrestling season begins in November!

Jonny was a four-time state placer, state finalist and four-time WESCO District Champion who finished his high-school career with an incredible 145–13 record. He later brought that wrestling into MMA, winning three titles and competing professionally, including in China! 🇨🇳

What makes Jonny especially valuable is that he doesn’t just understand wrestling, he understands how to apply it specifically to mixed martial arts. We’re excited to have someone of his caliber back on the mats at C3, sharing his knowledge and helping develop our next generation of athletes and students.

Tuesday Technical Sparring at C3 👊

This class is all about getting better without beating each other up.

Technical sparring gives our students a chance to work their timing, distance, defense, footwork and combinations against a live partner while keeping the pace controlled and the focus on learning.

You don’t need to go 100% to improve. Good sparring is about being a good teammate, staying sharp, staying safe and helping everyone in the room get better.

Great work from the whole class. Keep showing up and keep improving. 👊

Just a few days after earning his UFC contract with a statement win on Dana White’s Contender Series, Bilal Hasan is already headed straight back into the fire for his UFC debut in Shanghai!

No long wait. No easing into it. Just another undefeated opponent and another opportunity to show the world what Bilal can do.

From the Contender Series to the UFC in a matter of days. This is only the beginning.

WE’RE GOING TO THE UFC! 👊🔥

What a night for Bilal Hasan.

Bilal walked into Dana White’s Contender Series with a ton of expectations on him, including being the biggest betting favorite in DWCS history at around -5000, and delivered exactly the way we knew he could.

45 seconds. First round TKO. UFC CONTRACT.

Bilal is now 9 and 0 as a professional, with 8 finishes, and tonight the rest of the MMA world got to see what we’ve been seeing in the gym for years.

I couldn’t be more proud of this kid.

I’ve watched Bilal put in the work day after day. The hours in the gym, the sacrifices, the travel, the hard rounds and all those days when nobody was watching. Tonight everybody got to see the result.

I want to give a huge thank you to the entire C3 crew. Every coach, fighter, training partner and teammate who has pushed Bilal and supported him throughout this journey. Nobody reaches this level alone, and this accomplishment belongs to the whole room.

A special thank you and much respect to Matt Hume, AMC Pankration and Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson for the constant guidance, knowledge, training and rounds they’ve given Bilal. The relationship between C3 and AMC goes back a long way, and having people with that level of experience invest their time into Bilal has been invaluable.

And I know this victory means a lot to all of the people supporting Bilal in Indonesia. 🇮🇩

Bilal has built an incredible following there, proudly represents his Indonesian heritage as The IndoNinja, and has thousands of people halfway around the world who have been following this journey and waiting for this moment. Tonight they got to celebrate right along with us.

From Charlie’s Combat Club and AMC in the Pacific Northwest all the way to Indonesia, this one was special.

Bilal represented himself, his family, his team and everyone who believes in him exactly the way we knew he would.

Another great week in Tokyo. 🇯🇵

I’m incredibly grateful to be able to come to Japan for the ONE SAMURAI series and work alongside such a talented group of people to help put these events together.

Congratulations to all of the athletes and coaches who competed at ONE SAMURAI 2, and especially to those who came away with victories. The ONE SAMURAI Featherweight Kickboxing Tournament is officially underway, highlighted by two devastating first-round finishes in the co-main and main events. 🔥

I’ve spent most of my life in martial arts, from building Charlie’s Combat Club to now having the opportunity to work with some of the best fighters in the world. Weeks like this remind me how fortunate I am to still be doing what I love.
