This quarter, we're working on identifying intervals! An interval is the distance between two notes. This picture shows the calm before the storm -- that is, what the whiteboard looked like before rehearsal on Monday! Can you identify the Christmas carol melody written on the bottom two staff lines of the board?

Choir helps us develop life skills!
As part of our most recent rehearsal, SCYC's Bella Coro ensemble heard a presentation from the Everett Chorale Association grants team chair. This presentation gave these middle and high schoolers an opportunity to learn about a few of the ins and outs of writing grants -- what a grant is; why non-profit organizations might need grants; identifying application parameters; brainstorming appropriate projects; and more!
Thanks for coming by, Cydney! We look forward to learning from you more in the coming weeks.

Eyes on Primo!
Primo is our ensemble for singers in kindergarten and lower elementary grades. It's a place for loving music, learning to match pitch, and developing rhythm-reading skills -- in other words, for building a strong musical foundation! We have room for your young singer. Join us!

Singing in front of a big crowd can be exhilarating! It helps us develop poise and confidence, and is such an affirmation of our hard work when the audience applauds. We hope your musical student will sing with us and receive that same affirmation this year!

We're returning this March to a venue that saw BIG crowds with us back in 2025 -- Cascade View Presbyterian. This picture is of our Cantare ensemble sharing an anthem with one of those audiences!

Throwback to a rehearsal in 2025 where SCYC stood exactly in the center of the Everett Chorale -- what a cool experience to be surrounded by so many voices! We sing again with the Chorale next spring.
Does your young musician want to seek out cool musical experiences? Join us! Registration is open through September 25.
