The Everett Public Schools Foundation received a generous $250,000 endowment donation in memory of Sue Hegeman (in photo: center), a devoted wife and mother who valued reading and lifelong learning. 📚

With family at the center of everything Sue did, she encouraged her sons to discover the joy and opportunities books can provide. This endowment creates a lasting tribute to her life and legacy.

We are deeply grateful that her sons chose to honor Sue in this meaningful way. Her impact lives on through her family, the values she instilled, and the opportunities this gift will help create for future generations. ❤️

Yesterday we received a $23,000 donation from the EverTrust Foundation to support early learning programs across Everett Public Schools! ❤️

Through programs like Transition to Kindergarten, Play & Learn, and Everett Ready, students and families are building the skills, confidence, and connections that help children enter school ready to learn and succeed.

As changes to state funding create uncertainty for early learning programs, community partnerships like EverTrust’s are more important than ever.

The Everett Public Schools Foundation is offering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student Grants of up to $1,000 to support student-led projects that strengthen school communities, promote belonging, and celebrate differences.

🌍 Cultural awareness, celebrations, or events
🤝 Inclusive practices that promote belonging and accessibility
📣 Student empowerment, leadership, and advocacy
Eligible projects should make a meaningful, positive impact on the broader school community. Grants are one-time awards and are not renewable.

Classroom grant applications are now open! 📚

The Everett Public Schools Foundation’s classroom grants help bring innovative, engaging, and transformative learning experiences to life. From field trips and hands-on activities to learning tools, fitness, music, and the arts, these grants help certificated staff create opportunities that inspire students and enhance learning.

📅 Applications open: Sept. 15
⏰ Applications due: Oct. 21 at 11:59 p.m.
🎉 Grants awarded: Mid-November
💰 Funds available: November through June 2027

Principal approval is required before submitting an application.

Sno-Isle Food Co-op and their customers raised an incredible $1,299.03 during the August Register Roundup in support of our Stuff the Bus school supply drive!

✨ $568.38 was donated by customers through register roundups
✨ $730.65 was donated by Sno-Isle Food Co-op through their First Friday Program

We are so grateful for Sno-Isle Food Co-op and everyone who rounded up their purchases or contributed! Your generosity is a wonderful example of what happens when a community comes together to support students. ❤️

Thanks to a $25,000 grant from Amazon.com, the Everett Public Schools Foundation provided a book to all 1,081 incoming kindergarteners who attended Everett Ready this week! 📚

The grant is also helping support early learning programs across the district. ❤️

Books were available in both English and Spanish, helping students begin building libraries of their own at home. We appreciate Amazon’s partnership and support of our youngest learners!
