“You work 60 hours a week… and I still can’t get you healthcare.”
That was the conversation I had to have with a newer loan officer.
She was grinding, doing everything right, but hadn’t closed enough business to qualify for traditional benefits.
Then our insurance provider dropped us.
Too many people either didn’t need old-school coverage, had it through a spouse, or simply didn’t want to pay for something that did not fit their life.
That forced me to ask a hard question:
How do we build wellness into this business in a way that actually serves entrepreneurs, instead of punishing them for being independent?
My people are builders. They want choice, flexibility, and agency, even with their healthcare. The “take it or leave it” model never made sense for them or to me quite frankly.
So we started tearing down the outdated approach and rebuilding something that looks more like our team: entrepreneurial, flexible, and focused on real wellbeing, not just checking a box.
We are not done yet, but I am excited about where we are headed and how everyone on my team can benefit from it.
Because if you are out here carrying the weight of the business, you should not feel alone when it comes to your health.
