After the event, Ebalaroza-Tunnell noted, "Since the signing of the Point Elliott Treaty, 166 years ago in Mukilteo, the Tulalip Tribes have not sung their songs on their land. We just bridged 166 years."

About 50 people gathered on the soft dirt that will be the site of Discovery Elementary School's new addition. They squinted in the warm afternoon sun of Sept. 9, some holding hard hats, shovels and drums. It was a unique groundbreaking ceremony and the first of its kind in Mukilteo School District....
