We invite you to take home a piece of Jackson Elementary School history! ❤️ Bricks are now available for anyone who would like one near the intersection of Charles Avenue and Federal Avenue.

Jackson Elementary will start the 2026-27 school year in the new building. Once demolition is complete, construction will begin on the new parking lot, gym, and stage!

This project is possible thanks to the voter-approved 2022 Capital Levy! 🦺

Update 8/11

Got good news and bad news from Principal Darren Larama....
The bad is all those rocks that were in front of the playground and the parking on Federal are coming out..... I remember being happy when I was a young boy walking that torturous Edwards Ave hill.... and then seeing the rocks told me that I made it!!!
But that's the bad news.......
Good news however is that one of the our group members had a friendship bench in honor of her little girl...... Darren said that they will be using it once they get the play area back up.... that's exciting...... but Im so excited that the lettering and numbers of the old school (Jackson Elementary School 1948) are saved and they are trying to find a way to put them on display in the new school..... obviously, that will be my favorite when the school opens......
Also, no tours of the new school until Spring of next year..... they want to get (and need to) a lot done...... new playground, parking lot, gym, stage (for you, Michael Coble!!!) and a Commons building
Its just another long year for the kids..... feel sorry for the 5th graders who really dont get the whole schmorgesborg...... but hey, they got to experience a whole new change, right?
But that's the update

School is still half gone..... looks like a lot of clean up is happening down at the south end of the school..... they must really want to get the project of the gym, commons and stage buildings to go in.
Still sad to watch it go down, but I watch it everyday, just like losing a loved one..... be there till its gone.....
On the other hand for you Salmons and Silvers, the school has yet to put up the mural of like an aquarium like atmosphere......
The schematics have been pretty much right on.
It looks like Jackson will be something like the Seattle aquarium (but without real fish)
But these are the schematics that Steven Krause, from the School District sent to me last year
