You have already received this information if you use the Brightwheel app on your phone or tablet. We are sharing it here for those who may not have seen it yet.

We are excited about this transition as we look forward to offering the best care for your children and family.

"Dear EUMC Children’s Center families,

Let us begin by saying, “thank you,” for allowing us to serve you at the EUMC Children’s Center. Over the past 25 years, it has been a gift to come alongside you in watching your children learn and grow.

As you may or may not be aware, we have been struggling with staffing for a while. Our Children’s Advisory Board has been meeting regularly brainstorming ideas and plans for our future.

We decided a few months back that we needed to have staff in place by the end of June for the fall so we would be prepared for child care when our college students leave. We have not found the staffing necessary.

Our plan was to close the Center unless we could provide an alternative plan.

God has provided an opportunity and genuine blessing in the form of Marci and Aaron Burkett.

After several meetings with the Burkett’s, the Children Center’s Advisory Board and the Everett United Methodist Church’s Administrative Council are in agreement that we should turn over management to the Burkett’s. Our main concern in this decision is doing everything possible to provide an important need in the Everett community.

We know there will be many more announcements to come as decisions are made and the Burkett’s transition.

It is our goal to make this a smooth transition, and we are hopeful that it will not include any interruption of service to you.

We acknowledge this has been a very stressful and difficult time for all of us.

Any immediate questions you may have can be shared and we will do our best to answer them.

Judy will be in the office at 9:00 AM Monday, July 18, 2022.

Pastor Dave will be on vacation for the week, but will be returning next Tuesday, July 26th, 2022. His email is [email protected] if you have any questions and willing to answer as best he can.

We will continue to update you on Brightwheel as we have information to share.

We will also be scheduling parent meetings to address your questions and concerns.

When we have them set up we will communicate this with you.

It is our continued prayer that you will be able to feel confident that your children will be well provided for as they continue to attend at the Center.

Floater

General Position Description

The Floater person cleans toys, laundry, and areas of the Child Care Center.

This position reports to The Director

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleans/dips toys following the regulations found in our COVID plan

• Cleans Classroom floors and bathrooms

• Maintain a clean arrival area

• Launders all masks, bedding and other laundry needed for the Child Care Center

• Follow all center policies and state regulations.

• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

• All Clearances required.

• Must clear full background check.

• Must pass health screening.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 30 lbs.

• Stand for long periods of time.

• Move as the position requires.

Employment Type:

Part time

Wage Range

Based on prior experience and training.

OTHER INFORMATION:
- New hires will start pay rate based on experience. After 90 days, new hires receive $0.50/hour increase

General Position Description:

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.

This position reports to the Director

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.

• Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.

• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.

• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.

• Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.

• Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.

• Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.

• Maintain accurate records, forms and files.

• Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.

• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.

• A strong understanding of child development.

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

• Must clear a full background check and must pass health screening.

Educational Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in early childhood education OR related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.

• A CDA OR 3 years of child care experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.

• A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.

General Position Description

The Kitchen person supervises food preparation and serves meals and snacks to center children and staff. The Kitchen person is responsible for maintenance, cleanliness, inventory and safety of kitchen

This position reports to The Food service Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions, giving input to the Food Service Supervisor

• Prepare, cook and serves meals.

• Maintain hygiene and safety of kitchen in according with state licensing requirements

• Prepare an order of food and related supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen and given to the Food Service Supervisor.

• Follow all center policies and state regulations

• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
