But please take moment to remember Juneteenth (June 19, 1865) commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S. today is a great day to read books with black characters or by black authors, watch YouTube videos to learn more about the holiday, or support black owned businesses.

Pride Month is celebrated each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall uprising in Manhattan, which was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. At Challenger, we welcome students, Staff, and family members who identify as LGBTQ+. Feeling included and supported as one of the most critical elements of well-being and we welcome all in our community.

Hey, cheetahs! field day is quickly approaching on June 18. We have over 20 stations planned, but we need your help. If you’re able and interested in volunteering to monitor students and activities, please head over to ParentSquare to sign up for one of the available activities. We have grades 3-5 participating in the morning, and grades K-2 participating in the afternoon.
Background checks must be completed prior to June 18, and these forms are available in the front office. For more information, contact Mr. Jameson or Mr. Voss.

In the month of May, we take time to reflect and celebrate the important role that Asian Americans, native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders have played in our shared history.
The theme for this year’s AAPI Heritage month is “Advancing Leaders Through Innovation,” paying homage to visionaries and trailblazers, who have shaped AAPI history and continue to influence our future.

The Challenger 4th Grade Justice Team presents… the Challenger Change Makers Assembly!

Students from 4th and 5th grade will share a variety of inspiring people throughout history that have changed our world for the better. All Challenger students will join our choir in several musical performances. We are looking forward to seeing you on Friday, March 22, at 10:10 AM!
