Juniors have gotten to go tour the now closed prison for the past two years. There are several interesting stories including those about this infamous inmate.

On this day in East Tennessee history, June 10, in 1977, James Earl Ray, convicted killer of Martin Luther King, Jr., escapes from Brushy Mountain State Prison. He is apprehended 3 days later.

My first class that I got to see all the way through the Criminal Justice program, sophomores-seniors, graduated Friday. I have been truly blessed to have this group of young men and women as my students. While I am the teacher, they have taught me more than they will ever know.
