The vision is becoming reality.

As we enter the closing stages of our Centennial Campaign, the impact of this historic effort can already be seen throughout Memorial.

Walls are coming down. Spaces are being transformed. Improvements are taking shape. And with every project, we are building a Memorial that will better serve our students today and generations of Tigers still to come.

One of Sam’s wishes was to see the boys’ locker room updated and made into a space that the boys could be proud of. We had announced before Sam passed that the locker room would be dedicated in his honor, and we want to make sure his vision for that space is not forgotten.

Our Capital Campaign has already received donations to help with the locker room renovations, but we would love to do even more to make this a special place in Sam’s memory.

A big thank you to our incredible mental health panelists for joining us today! 💙

Our students had the opportunity to hear from these professionals about the importance of mental health awareness, healthy coping strategies, and how to support themselves and others in the classroom, athletics, and everyday life.

This week’s Formation Friday will give our students the opportunity to hear from an incredible panel of mental health professionals and learn more about mental health, wellness, and supporting one another.

This will take place in Memorial's Auditorium from 12:15 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.

If you have ever stepped foot in the halls of Memorial High School, you know the feeling.

The pride. The belonging. The understanding that you are part of something bigger than yourself.

That feeling was built 100 years ago, and every student, parent, alumnus, educator, and supporter since has helped carry it forward.What was started for us on Lincoln Avenue is now in our hands. Those who came before us built something worth carrying forward. They guided us. They taught us. They gave us the skills to succeed. And for 100 years, each generation has been given something by Memorial, with the responsibility to leave something behind for the generation that follows.

Now, that responsibility belongs to us.

As we enter the closing stages of our Centennial Campaign, we are asking the Memorial community to come together and help carry this tradition forward.

In the coming weeks, we’ll share what the Centennial Campaign has already made possible, the projects taking shape today, and what still lies ahead. But first, we remember why we started.Because the next 100 years of Memorial will be shaped by what we build together.

And 100 years from now, when another Tiger walks these halls for the first time, we want them to know that feeling too.

Yesterday, the Memorial community came together for our first All-School Mass of the 2026-27 school year, and it was a particularly meaningful celebration for our Tiger family.

It marked Deacon Josh Reising’s first Mass at Memorial High School as a newly ordained deacon. During his homily, Deacon Josh reflected on the life and legacy of our recently departed alumnus, Sam Schulz, to whom the Mass was dedicated.

Sam showed us what it means to live with faith, courage, joy, and a genuine love for others. His impact on Memorial continues to be felt throughout our halls, our athletic programs, and the countless lives he touched.

There was something especially fitting about beginning a new school year gathered together in prayer, celebrating the Eucharist, welcoming Deacon Josh into his new ministry, and remembering a Tiger who embodied so much of what we hope our students carry with them beyond Memorial.

Faith. Community. Formation. Family.

These moments are among the many things that make a Memorial education different. We don't simply prepare students for what comes next. We strive to form young men and women who understand who they are, whose they are, and how they are called to serve others.

May God continue to bless Deacon Josh in his ministry, and may Sam’s memory and example continue to inspire the Memorial family.
