Game Changers at Washington Middle School

And that’s a wrap on Fall 2025 Game Changers! Remodel design class with Trades for Tomorrow and Community One in the morning and ceremony in the afternoon! Thank you so much Ginger Smoke for catering! Thank you to those that were able to attend and help serve the boys. It was truly a wonderful celebration of the 18 weeks they were able to enjoy. The Boys took a pre-and post assessment. Post assessment quotes from The Boys were unanimous. They loved meeting new people they can contact in the future and taking those trips throughout the community! This mentorship is a Game Changer!!! 

We told the guys yesterday we were just going on a nice relaxing tour of the city. Little did they know 🙂 Thank you Walther’s! The Game Changers had a blast and appreciated it so much! Several first time putt putt hole in ones!

Thank you Mr. Gray for visiting The Game Changers yesterday. Weather did not permit us to get outside but your knowledge and tips sure got their minds turning on thoughts of future camping trips with friends. Thank you for all the gifts and encouraging words to the boys about the Game Changer team. 

Thank you Brandon Hancock for sharing your testimony and showing the guys the correct techniques for weight training. They loved it! They also loved the Reebok super bands you got each of them 🙂 You made a big impact on each of them today Brandon!

Invites to our community friends of Game Changers being sent out 🙂 and we still have four field experiences left in the next two weeks! Love it! 

Well, it might’ve been the last day of school before Thanksgiving break but we didn’t take the day off 🙂 The guys learned to make homemade cookies on their own from recipe and also season and pan sear their own steaks today! Yet another great day for The Game Changers! They took a bunch of cookies home to family and we dropped cookies off to Fire Station #15 gentlemen!

Mr. Madison really put some smiles on faces including mine this past week! He spent quite a bit of time with the boys and really improved their bowling technique! He even asked for a basketball schedule for the upcoming season for some of the boys. Good stuff! Giovanni breaking 100 for the first time!

Strength in mind and body for the Game Changers yesterday with Coach Korey Mauck from North Posey! Great message and competition. Push-up, plank and wall sit challenge along with a little Pop-A-Shot of course. Thank you Coach! Boys are excited to see who takes the crown a month from now before Game Changers 2025 graduation banquet. They also enjoyed going through some basketball and football cards Coach Lenn brought in for them.

What were the Game Changers up to yesterday? Just a little classroom time and sheet metal work with Local 20! Boys had an absolute blast, loved their tool boxes and we will be going back. Couldn’t get full experience all in on day one 🙂 thank you Local 20 for the great experience!
