Again another point I tell every pitcher - you must become stoic! Of course the younger ones just give me that blank look and that’s the time to explain. Don’t show emotions while on the mound. If you give up a homerun get a ball and reset! Throw a 3rd strike - get the ball and again reset. Throw ball 4 - get the ball and reset. Save the celebration for after the game. Review your performance independently of the win or loss. Ask yourself what you did well and what you can do better. Be stoic.

Share a great local hero story - up the road a little bit but extremely important to me because I coached football there for 2 years and made it to runners up in football state championship team. And he was a little off because it wasn’t the schools first ever state championship team but that’s fine. Love sharing local sport legends stories. Why share it here??? Because there will always be a “next” hero - why not you???

It seems like when I find one I find more. This one is about life but I do consider sports a part of most of our life’s especially if you’re on my page. Sports has been a part of my life my entire life. I played because- well not sure just because everyone did back then. We didn’t allow parents to organize our outdoor activities which always included some type of pick up sport - baseball, basketball or football was the main BUT we made up games that had a mixture of all 3 plus wherever our minds would take us. We did try out for teams and guess what sometimes we got cut! And let me tell you from experience it hurt - real bad. But we learned to deal with it. No parent intervention! Read what this guy has to say and ask yourself can you become that parent who should help guide but let them take their own steps and when they fall down let them figure out the way back up. I know now that those lessons I learned - not the wins/losses - carried me all the way where I am now. Read this one - - -

Parents, unless you plan to be by your child's side every minute of their life, you have to stop solving every problem for them.
I know that's difficult.
Every parent wants to protect their child from disappointment, frustration, failure, and heartache.

But the qualities we hope our children develop—confidence, resilience, responsibility, perseverance, and independence—are not built when life is easy.

They are built when children face challenges and discover they can overcome them.

Every time we rush in to solve a problem they could solve themselves, we unintentionally send the message:

"I don't think you can handle this."

Every time we shield our children from the consequences of their actions, we weaken one of life's most important lessons: personal responsibility.

Children need our love. They need our support.

They need our encouragement. But they also need boundaries.

They need accountability. They need opportunities to struggle, fail, adjust, grow, and try again.

Because one day they will face challenges without us standing beside them.

The goal of parenting is not to make life easier for our children as it is to help them become capable, confident, responsible adults who can navigate life on their own.

Sometimes the most loving thing a parent can say is:

"No."

"Not this time."

"You need to figure this one out."

Because they need parents who love them enough to help them become capable, confident, resilient, and responsible adults.

God can do so much with a small beginning.

Looking back, I don’t see a girl who was behind.

I see a girl God was already working in.

She didn’t know the full story yet.

She just started.

And sometimes that simple step of faith is where everything begins. 🤍

Man oh man this really hits home. For all the young athletes who are struggling in whatever sport and they are questioning their future you better watch/listen to this. You just never know when that light switch will turn on and you’ll see a glimmer of light. Just go with your gut and believe that your instinct will direct you in the right path. Now watch the video and remain positive.

Hey I finally get to share a post of my fav sport - pickleball. If you would take this players mindset then there’s no limit! You have to believe that you will be the best. Love the comment - what are you doing if you’re not coming for the crown! She had so many quotable statements in this short clip. But your mind in the right space first.

Would someone PLEASE - PLEASE share this with EVERY parent AND coach!!!! Throw hard - no brainer! Throw will correct technique - again no brainer! Spin the pitch, find the location, and learn a few pitches - it’ll all come together later. I’m so tired hearing - my coach says I need more speed and she’s 10 years old. Or even 12! If you master the technique you’ll get the speed but without control and ball movement speed means NOTHING when you get older.

This is another one of those GREAT FEEL GOOD STORYLINES! Don’t we all wish for family moments in team sports? I know I did and it never happened like this one. But you will never top this moment for sports in a family. I got cold chills watching the whole thing.
