Young Professionals Alliance (YPA) is a program of the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership. YPA is dedicated to serving young professionals in the region by providing opportunities for professional development, civic and community engagement, and professional networking. Active participation in YPA is a great way to meet new people, make valuable business connections, and stay engaged in the

Greater Evansville community. Any young professional employed by an EREP member business is invited – and encouraged – to participate in Young Professionals Alliance free of charge. 🏓🥒 Lets pickle, YPs!

Join the Young Professionals Alliance for a fun, active evening! This event is an active and engaging way to connect with fellow young professionals in a fun, low-pressure environment. Whether you’re brand new to the game or already know your way around the court, this event is designed for all skill levels!

✨ August 27th from 5-7:30pm at 3rd Shot Pickleball!

👉 We’ll kick things off with a brief Pickleball 101 overview for anyone new to the game, followed by open play. Enjoy a mix of standard court time and a special Glow Night experience.
👉 Paddles and balls will be available for anyone who needs equipment, but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish!
👉 3rd Shot Pickleball also has light food options available for purchase, including individual pizzas, chicken tenders, mozzarella cheese sticks.
👉 Beverages will also be available for purchase at the bar.

✨ 5:00-5:30PM: Welcome introduction & open networking
✨ 5:30-6:00PM: Pickleball 101 introductory class for anyone new to the game
✨ 5:30-6:45PM: Open play with regular court lighting
✨ 6:45-7:30PM: Play under the glow lights and enjoy the Glow Night experience for a unique twist

🎟️ $10 per person:
Participants will need to call the 3rd Shot front desk at 812-940-2800 to register and receive the discounted rate of $10. Payment can be made either over the phone at the time of registration or at the door on the day of the event. The event will be open to both members and non-members, and the 3rd Shot Pickleball staff will ensure the appropriate pricing and discount are applied during registration.

🎒 What to Bring:
Comfortable/appropriate clothes and athletic shoes, a water bottle to stay hydrated, and a great attitude!

💥 Meet our final Breakout Speakers, Mackenzie Gammans and Cami Mitchell! These two shining stars are doctoral students in clinical psychology at the University of Evansville.

👉 Mackenzie has experience in teaching and providing clinical services. She is passionate about making psychology approachable, reducing mental health stigma, and helping people better understand themselves, others, and the world around them. Her goal is to bridge the gap between psychological research and applications to everyday life through education and conversation.

👉 Cami has experience providing mental health services including psychotherapy and psychological testing. While aiming to understand people within their unique contexts, her passions include advocacy for compassionate and accessible care, multicultural awareness and respect, and community involvement.

👋 Meet our breakout speaker, Elspeth Urbina — Director of Development at Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana!

🌟 Elspeth is a dedicated nonprofit leader who has spent the last six years strengthening Evansville’s community through mission-driven fundraising and relationship building. Her leadership journey began as a high school intern with the Evansville Otters, where she grew over eight seasons into the Assistant General Manager — an experience that shaped her passion for developing people and leading with purpose.

💬 An Evansville native, Elspeth has served as Chair of the Young Professionals Alliance Steering Committee, volunteers as a mentor with the YWCA, and was honored as a member of Rotary Club of Evansville’s prestigious 20 Under 40 Class of 2023. Outside of work, she’s a proud aunt to seven nieces and nephews, a lifelong dancer who trains and teaches, and she loves unwinding with reality TV alongside her dog, Honey.

🗣️ Elspeth’s breakout session will explore what it truly means to lead — regardless of title — with insights on credibility, communication, resilience, and lessons inspired by Ted Lasso. She’s excited to return as a YPA alum and empower young professionals to grow into confident, people-first leaders.

💡 Meet our next breakout speaker, Brian Burkett – Senior Solutions Consultant at Lieberman Technologies!

💥 Brian is a seasoned technology professional providing consulting services primarily in managed services and cybersecurity. Brian is all about long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships. In concert with the technical team at Lieberman, he prioritizes understanding his clients' needs and making the same recommendations for them as he would for himself if he were in a similar situation.

🗣️ Brian resides in Newburgh with his wife Jenny and four children, and they are actively involved with Family Bible Church on Evansville’s North side where he serves as a Sunday School teacher and on the worship team. He believes in the importance of community service and over the years has been involved with several organizations, including Evansville Regional Economic Partnership, Evansville Rotary, Holly’s House, Ark Crisis Children’s Center, March of Dimes, and Castle Bands.

💡 As a visionary entrepreneur and community builder, she has transformed a passion for movement into a powerful platform that empowers others to step into their confidence, embrace their individuality, and show up boldly in every area of life.
Through Hype Hop Dance Fitness, Makenzie has cultivated an inclusive, high-energy environment where no prior dance or fitness experience is required—just a willingness to try, grow, and have fun. Her leadership has turned Studio Hype into more than a fitness space; it is a community rooted in support, accountability, and personal transformation.
