Can you believe we’ve only been in school for four weeks? I can’t!

All our 5th graders have been crushing the weaving activity during art with Mrs. Boyd. 🧶

First graders are already doing some BIG reading work in Ms. Poulson’s class!

During UFLI, students have been practicing with a decodable text aligned to the phonics skill they are learning this week. After building accuracy over several days, students timed themselves reading independently—and then read it again to see if they could beat their first time! ⏱️

But they didn’t stop at reading the words! Students also used context clues from the text to determine the meaning of “crossing guard” and showed their understanding by drawing a picture.

Fluency, phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension all working together—that’s what growing readers looks like! 💚🐾

🧶 1st day of Crochet Club 🧶

Mrs. Lahee-Thompson led the crochet club during after school programs. Every single 4th and 5th grader learned to make a slip knot. We can’t wait to see what they’ll make next week. 💚

Miss Poulson’s students have been working hard on paper strip art sculptures. 🖼️

Our school counselor, Mrs. Lahee-Thompson, brought a special guest to Mrs. Beshears’ kindergarten class today! 🦎

We read the book “The Pigeon HAS to go to school” and completed a writing activity together. After the students finished the activity, they all had the opportunity to pet Vega, Miss Scott’s pet bearded dragon. 😎

Leadership is already growing at Caze! 💚 Our 4th grade friend, Ms. Charllee, stepped into a leadership role today in Ms. Henton’s 1st grade classroom, where she helped teach a math lesson and read a story to our younger Cougars. She modeled confidence, responsibility, and kindness while sharing her learning with others. We love creating opportunities for our students to lead—and Ms. Charllee was a natural! 🐾
