Congrats to Hayden Montooth and Gracie Watkins on being named the 2026 Kiwanis Award winners for North boy’s and girl’s tennis. Could not ask for a better duo to represent the Huskies. So proud of you both!

The Huskies had a great weekend, finishing 2nd out 8 teams at the Scottsburg Invitational. Shout out to our 1 Doubles team of Gracie Watkins and Tessa Wilke who placed first individually and to our 2 Singles Wren Wheeler who finished as the runner-up. The girls built a lot of confidence and momentum to bring into the final stretch of the season!

We also want to give a HUGE thank you to all of the sponsors that helped make the North Pickleball Championships such a great success.

I also want to personally shout out a few people that helped behind the scenes to make everything possible.

First, I want to thank Liz Gutgsell and PickleballOGY for providing all of the pickleballs used during the tournament.

Next, thank you to Matt Cole, Larry Congleton, and the Hussmann family for providing us with the nets that allowed us to run the tournament at our own tennis courts.

Also thank you to Aubrey Lawson, Brooke Haug, and JD Scott for helping run the tournament desk, and also taking some great pictures throughout the day.

I also want to recognize DaShay Johnson and D Pickleball Anthem for DJing, sharing his own pickleball inspired music, and really setting the environment for the tournament.

Finally, a huge shout to the MVP of our weekend Jonathan Helm for not only providing the countless rolls of tape needed to construct our courts, but also volunteering his time, along with our managers Jackson Scott and Easton Wade to measure out each of our 12 pickleball courts for the girls to tape. They turned what would have been a full days work into a couple hours, allowing the rest of our tournament to be the success that it was.

Thank you all again, and I am looking forward to turning this into an annual tradition!

Pickleball Update

Singles will start on schedule at 10.

Doubles sign in will begin at 11 with play at 11:30.

Coed doubles will begin after, tentatively between 12:30 and 1, with updates coming as the day progresses.

We are excited to announce our partnership with local artist DaShay Johnson and D Pickleball Anthem for our upcoming Pickleball Championships. He will be on site Saturday, bringing his fun, Pickleball inspired music, T-Shirts, and good vibes. The North girls started their season off with a 4-1 win last night against Loogootee, with 5 girls picking up their first career Varsity wins. The JV also put on a dominant showing, finishing the night 8-0. Also huge congrats to all 4 of our juniors on being inducted into the National Honors Society after the match. Could not be more proud of our team!
