***Seniors important scholarship opportunity and deadline approaching - Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship***

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship will cover full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for books and required equipment for four year of full-time
undergraduate study leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Vanderburgh Community Foundation will accept online applications for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship through August 14, 2026.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Requirements:
● Be a resident of Indiana and graduate from a Vanderburgh County high school by June 2027.
● Have a minimum 3.8 cumulative unweighted GPA.
● Have a minimum SAT score of 1200 or a minimum ACT score of 25.
● Graduate with an Indiana Core 40 Academic or Technical Honors diploma.
● Be available for an interview with the scholarship committee if selected as a finalist and be prepared to write a short essay prior to the interview on a selected topic as an example of writing/critical thinking skills.
● Apply for the scholarship in only one county.

Next Steps:
● Notify your counselor that you are applying for the Lilly scholarship and ask her to send your transcript to Vanderburgh Community Foundation.

Commencement Update: Due to the incoming weather, this evening’s commencement ceremony will take place in Husky Arena. Seniors should report to the North Junior High School gymnasium promptly by 6:30 pm dressed in commencement attire. Doors will open to guests at 6:30 pm.The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm. All guests must present a ticket upon entry. Seniors should check their email for additional details and reminders. We can’t wait to celebrate our 2026 graduates!

Communication for Graduating Seniors

Good evening!
Due to weather concerns, the required Commencement practice will take place inside Husky Arena beginning at 11:15 am.

We still hope to be able to have the Commencement ceremony outdoors at Bundrant Stadium tomorrow evening. We will prepare for either scenario during practice. Seniors need to report to Husky Arena promptly by 11:15.

Seniors must be in attendance at practice in order to receive their tickets and to participate in the Commencement ceremony.

We want you to be aware of a scam that is moving through the North Community. Some families have been contacted about receiving a practice study guide for the SAT. They claim the packet comes as a flash drive and are charging $249. Please do not pay money over the phone for SAT prep. If you have questions, please reach out to North.
