Must be at least 18 years of age

High school diploma or GED required

Basic knowledge of child development (birth–5 years)

Previous child care or early learning experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate)

Ability to plan and support age-appropriate activities and learning experiences

Strong communication skills with children, families, and team members

Reliable, punctual, and able to work Monday–Friday based on program needs

Must pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements

CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain

Ability to lift, bend, stand, and actively engage with young children throughout the day

Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children

Eight years ago today, I took a leap of faith and opened our home to families in the community. What began as a dream became the vision for Bright Village Early Learning.

Since that day, I’ve had the joy and privilege of caring for countless children each one leaving a special mark on my heart. Many of those children and families continue to be part of my life and remind me daily why this work matters so much.

My name is Shantay Blackman, and I am the proud owner and founder of Bright Village Early Learning in Evansville, Indiana. With a strong passion for early childhood education, I’ve dedicated my career to creating a safe, loving, and engaging environment where young children can grow, learn, and thrive.

As a child care provider, I understand how important the early years are in shaping a child’s future. At Bright Village, I focus on nurturing each child’s unique personality while providing structure, developmental support, and hands-on learning through a creative curriculum.
