⛳ What a great weekend of golf at the McDonald Amateur!

Thank you to everyone who came out and played this weekend. We appreciate all of you for making the tournament another great one!

🏆 Congratulations to Layne Cunningham on capturing his first McDonald Amateur Championship! Layne set the pace with an outstanding opening-round 65 -7 and followed with a 74 for a two-day total of 139 to claim the title

2026 has come with some sacrifices for both McDonald and Fendrich Golf Courses. Having to reschedule the McDonald Amateur to this weekend—and having a smaller field because of it—is another sacrifice I’m happy to deal with.

Those sacrifices have paid off. We now have the beautiful fairways we were working toward, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and support throughout the improvements this year. We’re looking forward to a great McDonald Amateur this weekend, and we hope to see everyone back next year when we return to our normal weekend, July 10–11, 2027! This years tee times are up and in the link.

McDonald Golf Course will remain open for regular play both Saturday and Sunday, with normal tee times beginning at 12:30 PM.

Men’s Club Championship

Scott Hastings claimed the overall club championship, closing out the tournament at -2, edging out a tight leaderboard that included Sam Key (also -2), Alex Webb and Andy Eble (-1), and Brandon Broshears/Kurt Seib (+2).

Flight Results:

•B Flight: Tony Hiatt took the win at +5, with Aaron Singleton runner-up at +7, and Tim Crowe/Greg Gray tying for third at +11.

•C Flight: Jim Blevins ran away with it at +3, ahead of Scott Schaffer (+19) in second and Scott Zenthofer (+22) in third.

•D Flight: Blake Brooks tied with Dwayne McHugh at +29, with Brent Fleming taking third at +31.
