Students in WiEng (Women in Engineering) recently learned about oncofertility while engaging in an activity where they encapsulated glitter in sodium alginate! The process was developed by Dr. Theresa Woodruff, who pioneered the field of fertility preservation for young women who have survived cancer. Workshop led by NU/ETHS partnership coordinator Kristen Perkins.

Each year, CIERA invites a renowned speaker to campus for their Annual Public Lecture. This year, physicist and jazz musician Dr. Stephon Alexander will ring in CIERAās 15th anniversary with a lecture connecting music and astronomy.
The evening will begin with a jazz performance from CIERAās Star Eyes Initiative at 7pm, and the lecture will start at 7:30pm, all taking place at Northwesternās Lutkin Hall. Community members are invited for the Mitchell Museum of the American Indianās first-ever community powwow in partnership with Evanston Township High School on October 14th, 2024. The Indigenous Peoples Day Powwow is free and is open to the public.
This historic community event celebrates their forthcoming rebranding and honors the achievements of Illinoisās Native community, including the state-wide inclusion of Indigenous histories in public schools and the establishment of the stateās first Indian Reservation for the Prairie Band of Potawatomi Nation.

ETHS anatomy classes visited the Feinberg Anatomy Lab today to view prosected organs, discuss different careers and pathways in healthcare, and engage in a PBL (problem-based learning) session where they learned how to do a differential diagnosis, conduct a patient interview, and read an xray.
