Starting tomorrow, Pierce County is opening a new COVID-19 testing site at Spanaway Park. This temporary site will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. for two weeks, through Jan. 21. This is a drive-thru site with results available in 3-5 days. Testing is free, and no appointment is needed. More information: PierceCountyWa.Gov/CovidTest.

We have the best community partners! Students in Pierce County Skills Center's Construction Trades program got a big boost this week when the Master Builders Association of Pierce County donated $5,000 to the school. The generous donation was meant to kick off a new partnership between the school and the trade organization. Master Builder members also plan to support PCSC’s current Construction Trades curriculum in several ways. Builders will donate excess materials from jobsites for hands-on training, provide scholarships for students to purchase tools and supplies upon graduation, attend annual job fairs, and connect students to internship opportunities that lead to full-time employment.
