Today is Artemis 1 launch day! The USAs SLS rocket debut. A new era of space exploration. The deep space gateway to come. Today we take an uncrewed mission around the moon, but as these NU twin team crew members know, the real prize is Mars!

240 days, 106 surveys, 58 tasks, through illness, injuries, time differences, and many early mornings- mission accomplished!

Last month our Northwestern student comprised Martian Analysis Groups worked with NASA to successfully complete the SIRIUS-21 space analog mission! Their role in this study gives us important data with serious implications for the future of space travel! A big thank you to everyone involved! It was a BLAST!

What have you been doing for the last 7 months?

At Northwestern two teams of students are taking part in the SIRIUS 21 space analog mission!

This week our Martian Analysis Groups had their last in-person Project RED! During this task, the teams communicate LIVE with the SIRIUS Crew in Moscow to work together and find the best place to drill for water on Mars.

Only 1 more month left in the mission! 🚀
