The Northwestern Graduate Student Association represents and serves the non-professional graduate student population of Northwestern University in Evanston and Chicago, IL. We serve as advocates for the student body to the administration, seek to build community at Northwestern, and provide opportunities to serve the greater Evanston and Chicago communities.

GSA has purchased 5,000 KN95 masks to distribute to Northwestern graduate students and postdoctoral associates on both the Evanston and Chicago campuses. Masks will be distributed for free on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last. Details can be found in our newsletter sent out 2/7/2022!

Join fellow Northwestern graduate students and postdocs, for an end-of-the-quarter holiday celebration! Come meet new and old friends and celebrate with drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and desserts!

All attendees will be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test obtained within the last 48 hours, regardless of vaccination status. Participants are encouraged to go to the Jacob's Center for the Evanston Campus or 345 E. Superior St. for the Chicago campus for free testing. Alternatively, attendees may take a self-administered, take-home test and upload the proof of the negative test on the Navica app or take a photo with their Wildcard next to the test as proof of a negative result. Students and postdocs without a negative COVID test will not be admitted into the social.

Join GSA on November 19th, 6-7:30 pm in Tech LR5 for an evening of painting still life, festive snacks, and good company. We'll have supplies ready with plenty of fun objects and arrangements to use for artistic inspiration. We encourage attendees to make at least a $5 donation to a charitable organization aiding Afghan refugees! Donations, however, are not required for participation.

The first 75 people to go to Kilwins will receive a free item up to $6, and the first 50 people to show up to the Streeterville Cold Stone location will receive a medium ice cream with 1 topping. Pockets for K is a part of Alltimatum, an indie-pop group based in Chicago. They will perform acoustic versions of Alltimatum hits and a few brand-new songs. The two members, Kaley and Justice, have been singing and songwriting since high school and are both alumni of Northwestern's McCormick School of Engineering. a small bird is the moniker and solo project of Aggie Eydenberg, a musician based in Evanston. Her style is an intersection of indie-pop, folk, and rock. ~Nois is a Chicago-based saxophone quartet that specializes in the performance of contemporary classical music and experimental improvisation. Formed in 2016 as four master’s students at the Bienen School of Music, ~Nois has quickly become one of the premier young ensembles in the United States with over 70 performances in 20 states, more than 30 world premieres of new works, and top prizes at some of the most prestigious chamber music competitions in the country.
