We have home based Montessori preschool and we strongly believe in Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy. Our environment has six areas of learning. They are practical life, sensorial, Math, Language, Sciences, Art and Music. We have separate curriculum about grace and courtesy where children learn to respect each other and their environment. Our home is DCFS licensed and our school is a member of Ame

On 5/31 our class took a trip to Emily Oaks Nature 🌿 Center in Skokie, IL. The area includes a beautiful trail through the forest with duck 🦆 and geese 🪿 nearby.

It was so nice to enjoy the fresh air and wilderness 🌳 all around us! We had a picnic 🧺, a hike, playground 🛝 time and also checked out the indoor learning center.

We love being outside to experience the sounds of birds, animals and wind jostling the leaves in the trees. What a peaceful and enjoyable trip! 🐦‍⬛ 🌸

How did you celebrate Mother’s Day?

It is such a special occasion to celebrate and honor the dedication of mothers around the world.

As Montessorians, we value the importance of celebrating and showing gratitude for the contributions that our mothers make to our lives and communities.

Each child planned, created and gave their mom something handmade to make the day memorable. They were so proud!

Lots of beautiful smiles and hugs were exchanged at EMCH this week. Delicious food was shared. We even had some fun dancing and playful music.

Here are some Montessori Ideas for you to try at home:
• Create homemade gifts.
• Cook or bake together.
• Plant a garden.
• Go on a nature walk.
• Read together.

Last week we learned about and celebrated HOLI: The Festival of Colors!

This vibrant, energetic and multi-colored celebration of love, color and fertility takes place every year upon the arrival of Spring.

It is a popular Hindu holiday celebrated most-commonly in India. Our group learned about marking the end of winter and honoring the triumph of good over evil.

We threw colorful powder called gulal, ate sweets, and danced to traditional music. It was really fun to see the children enjoying themselves and making memories together!

A big thank you to parents who helped out and participated. :)

* Commemorate love and community.

For this year’s 2024 Summer camp, your children will discover all things China. June 10 - July 12 by a Montessori certified teacher. 😍

This year, children will enjoy:
* Learning about geographical features, language, food, culture and games of China 🇨🇳
* Practicing counting, greeting and 🎶 singing in Chinese
* Create arts 🎨 + crafts projects
* Watch a children’s Chinese movie 🍿
