Meet Mona Mod, IYWCC 2025 First Prize winner in the 15-18 age division for her composition, Lionel. When asked to tell a fun fact about herself, she said, "Leopold Auer and David Oistrakh strongly recommended playing instruments with different scales. I mastered the viola, but I was afraid of the cello. So I came up with a funny instrument - a fretless bass guitar! The unusual thing about my bass guitar is that it's tuned like a violin, in fifths, EADG instead of GDAE. I play Handel on it!!!"
