Hello! For those interested, the song the dance performed by the young children during MAT camp at farmers market - was performed to a song called "My Emotions." Hey everyone! I'm looking forward to teaching a few music classes for the younger bunch at MAT class this year! Check out the new class posted below Multi-Cultural Arts Splash.. I love to share music of different cultures through movement, art, music, drama, storytelling! I've enjoyed teaching this in the past, as we've "traveled" to Africa, Ireland, China, etc! See Music for Little Monkeys for more info about my style :) And here is a pic/photo of doing some African drumming/dance with kids here in my Logan Community.

Our Story

MUSIC, ARTS & THEATRE CAMP (MAT Camp)

Students of all ages enjoy 5 days of arts related classes including music, art, dance, and theater. Over 100 classes a day for students ages 1 – 100, taught by a professional staff. Great for families! Registration starts in April.

KEY DATES Camp Days: July 15-19, 2019

Online Registration opens in early April

TUITION – INCLUDES ALL 5 DAYS

$135 for up to 8 classes/day; $110 for up to 5 classes/day; $80 for up to 3 classes/day; $35 for 1 class/day

REGISTRATION DEADLINES

Early – by June 3

Late – June 4 – June 24 (additional $10 fee applies).

After June 24, classes will be very limited.

For 2019, the program has moved to Davis Middle School, 837 No Name St, Evanston, WY 82930

LODGING PLAN

The camp lodging plan is for high school students up through age 17

Three different options at three different price points will be available. Check back in early April for more details

EVENING ACTIVITIES

Tuesday, July 16 – TBA

Wednesday, July 17 – Staff Concert, 7 pm

Thursday, July 18 – Farmer’s Market, 5 pm. Student Talent Show, 7 pm

Friday, July 19 – Grand Gala Concert, 7 pm

MAT CAMP POLICY ON GRADE LEVELS

Due to the limited number of spaces available in our classes, we must prohibit students from registering for or transferring into classes above or below the grade level they are entering in fall 2019. While we regret the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause, we thank you for leaving these spaces available for students who currently meet the proper age criteria our classes are designed to serve. Occasionally, exceptions are made in performing ensembles (such as Symphony Orchestra) if a younger student is an advanced player.

SCHEDULING FOR YOUNGER STUDENTS

Students gr. 5 and under cannot be left unattended on campus during hours they do not have classes. If a student has open hours in their schedule they need to either be accompanied by an adult, register for classes at those times, or leave campus. All registered students will be supervised in classes and on campus during the lunch hour. Parents of younger children are invited to visit camp the first day to help their children find classes.

FINANCIAL AID

Available to families in financial need. Contact us for more details.

PAYMENT

Tuition and materials fees must be paid within one week of registration, or your registration may be cancelled. Contact us if you need to make special payment arrangements.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If a student needs to cancel a registration, a full refund can be given on or before the early registration deadline, with 50% refund on or before the late registration deadline. No refunds can be given after the late registration deadline.

TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS

A very limited number of tuition scholarships are offered for students in high school or college, who are advanced on strings, wind instruments or voice. Students must be proficient in their instrumental/vocal abilities, and must register to play/sing in one or more of the large ensembles (Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Band, Chamber Choir, etc.). Students who are selected to receive a partial or full scholarship will be required to pay any class materials fees. For more information or to apply for a scholarship please call 307-679-2348.

WORK STUDY

Students in need of tuition assistance may request a job helping camp staff (including parents). Contact our volunteer coordinator for details, 307-679-6575.

MAT CAMP DRESS CODE

Student attire is casual for daytime and evening activities. Students who break the dress code will be asked to change into suitable attire. Those who refuse to comply may be sent home. Some performing classes may require concert dress for the final performance on Friday. Please bring black pants/skirt, stockings and shoes, and a white blouse or shirt to wear at the final concert. PTSB CREDIT

Wyoming teachers can earn PTSB (Professional Teaching Standards Board) credit for observing or taking/participating in MAT Camp classes. Up to two credits can be earned for attending classes each day, for all five days. Teachers should register as a student through the regular registration system, and then fill out PTSB paperwork on the last day of the program. Be sure to contact us after you register to let us know you intend to get PTSB credit, so we get you on the list.
