Northwestern Formula Racing is proud to announce that NFR26 Unveil will be held at 1PM on Sunday, May 24th at Ford Design Center.

After a year of hard work on the vehicle, we are excited to present the build process and livery design to our wider community. We also extend special thanks to our sponsors who have made NFR26 possible. See you Sunday!

Over the weekend, NFR26 hit a major milestone as we official achieved first drive. After months of design, manufacturing, and testing the car officially took its first laps. Thank you to every team member, sponsor, alumni, and supporter who helped make this possible.

From the nimble engine in our 2008 inaugural vehicle to the massive design overhaul to our powertrain system in NFR18, our team has always set sights on innovation. NFR16 boasted our first successful completion of endurance at comp, and NFR23, our first ever EV, set the stage for our team’s future.

Education is underway. As we welcome our newest members, they are learning directly from the team what it takes to design and build NFR. In the coming weeks, they’ll take part in mechanical and electrical training that prepares them to contribute to every stage of our car’s development.

We want to meet you! Formula is hosting a number of new member events this week where you can learn about the team, talk with current members, and ask any questions you may have! Make sure to come out and say hello.

That’s a wrap! We ended our final day with a lap of endurance, where our false positive issues prevented us from going further, unfortunately. This comp was still a significant milestone for us: the first electric car with drive time pre-comp, the first electric car to pass all 6 technical inspections, the first electric car to compete in every dynamic event, and placed 23 out of 86 teams at the event. For those following our journey, thank you for the support, and we’ll see you next year!!
