We certainly feel good about this — a 27th film festival just selected “Natural Light: The Remarkable Transformation of a School on Detroit’s East Eight Mile” (short documentary; 18 min). Locations include: US, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Greece, India, Spain, Switzerland, and UK. This Saturday at 8:00 PM the “Better Cities Film Festival” will be screening the short documentary, “Natural Light: The Remarkable Transformation of a School on East Eight Mile,” at Campus Martius Park (outside) in downtown Detroit. It’s about our recent school project ... on East Eight Mile.

If you mention my name, you can get in for free. Actually, in fairness, everyone gets in for free.

We now have patent pending on a cool invention for young families – the first new method of saving for their children’s college since 1997!

And the patent title is really catchy! “METHODS FOR FUNDING U.S. STUDENT COLLEGE COSTS AND OTHER MAJOR LIFE COSTS UPON GRADUATION”

Just rolls right off the tongue, don’t you think?

Right. Anyway, we’ll be able to reveal more details about it soon.

Big news! Five years ago, Equity Schools created a funding mechanism to expand higher education in Africa.

Now we’ve finalized an agreement with a major U.S. university and a European partner to make it happen. Details are still confidential, but we had to share the news.

A great example of how some good ideas just need a lot of persistence.
