Eustis-Farnam Public School District encompasses 384 square miles in the south central Nebraska counties of Frontier, Dawson, Gosper and Lincoln. Two small towns, Eustis (population 401) and Farnam (population 171), are located in the district. The district is a ranching and farming economy with some small businesses and production. Eustis-Farnam Public Schools are the result of a 1997 merger. At
the time of merger there were 347 students in the district. Despite the challenges brought about by the merger and the fiscal pressure that accompanies declining enrollment, the Eustis-Farnam Public Schools community is committed to quality, innovative educational opportunities. As a direct result of this commitment, student achievement generally exceeds national averages on norm-referenced assessments and frequently exceeds state averages on norm-referenced tests and criterion-referenced assessments. Our academic accomplishments were recognized in 2010 as the school was honored as a National Blue Ribbon School. In 2011 Eustis-Farnam Schools began another five-year cycle of school improvement. Our district goal is "All students will improve reading comprehension skills." We adopted this goal because a review of our data, while showing improvement, still indicated reading comprehension to be an area where our students need to improve. We are implementing strategies to help improve our students' reading comprehension, and we are hopeful of continuing accreditation from the NDE. Our students participate in many extra-curricular activities such as: Speech, One-Act Play, Mock Trial, FFA, Quiz Bowl (Elementary, Junior High, and High School) Pep Band, District Music Competitions, and Cheerleading. The majority of our students are also members of our athletic teams in one or more of the following sports: Football, Volleyball, Cross-Country, Wrestling, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Track, and Golf. Eustis-Farnam Public Schools is a proud member of the Fort Kearny Conference.
